The Problem
Limitations / Constraints
|
My light is going to be a desk lamp. It can be used a rest light because I can read with it at night which helps me relax. It can also be used as a work light as well because I can use it to do work at night and see what I am doing properly.

The Design Situation
Light shapes our world. It defines spaces. It tells us how to behave, when to walk, which way to go. It gives hope in an dark world. We often don't give much thought to the way light shapes how we feel, what we do and how we do it. But when we scratch below the surface of our every day lives, and give it some thought, light is essential to living our lives Design Brief: Create a light that helps you to work, rest or say. A work example: a roof light or a lamp helps you to work because it can enable you to see what you are doing. Another example of a work light is a head torch because if you are mining in the dark is allows you to see what you are working on. A rest example: natural light helps you to relax or rest because there is no artificial light keeping you awake. Natural light can be very relaxing if you are laying outside. A say example: traffic lights, traffic lights say things by having three different coloured lights green (go), amber (slow down) and red (stop). Another say example is a charging light (this lets you know when a is charging). |
Design Brief:
Create a light that is based on helping people to rest or relax, to understand things more or giving signals that mean something or to help provide a light source to help people who are working. The light I will be creating is a flower shape light that holds a tea light candle as a light source. It involves materials such as polypropylene, aluminium, forex and acrylic. The light source will be based around relaxation or rest as a candle can b very relaxing.
